I bought the Baby Jogger Summit XC after I compared it to a couple of BOB strollers. I couldn’t see both of them in person so I looked over the specs online and then read a bunch of reviews. I was a little leery of buying a new stroller without seeing it but I went ahead anyway. The Summit XC arrived in no time and I have to say that I’m very happy I chose it.
The ride on this stroller is very smooth, even considering it’s a jogging stroller. The larger wheels really make it simple to push. I often take it across the grass and on dirt paths and it has no problems. You can set the front wheel to be locked straight or swivel, depending on where you are traveling.
Unless I’m running full speed (not often) I just keep it swiveling. One of the best features that I think they designed into it is the easy folding mechanism. All you have to do is lift it a little in the correct spot and it folds right up. Plus, since it is so light I can easily put it into the trunk.

If you like to take jogs or if you just want to travel off the beaten path then this is just what you need. While you can take it when you are running errands or to the store, it really shines when the road gets rough so to speak.
The reclining seat is another big plus. It folds down very far and our son easily takes naps even when I’m in a jogging mood. Since, the ride is so smooth it just rocks him to sleep. The storage basket also holds everything we need to bring with us. The only thing I see missing is the cup holder but we’ve learned to adapt.
I highly recommend the Baby Jogger Summit XC. If you’re looking for a high-performance jogging type stroller then this is the best choice. However, if you need one that is for everyday use then you might want a more ‘standard’ stroller. For us though, this is just right.
